Flux Compression Generator - the EM bomb

Flux Compression Generator

Magnetic Flux Compression Generators (Magnetocumulative Generators, MCGs) were independently invented by A. Sakharov in Russia and C.M. Fowler in the United States. They are the most powerful Pulsed Power devices ever built. Till the end of the Cold War, the applications of this technology were classified. Today it is possible to give international lectures on these devices and some of their applications.
C.M. Fowler, Los Alamos National Laboratories, USA
L. Altgilbers, U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, USA
I. Smith, University of Loughborough, UK

A Flux Compression Generator (FCG) is basically a Directed ElectroMagnetic Pulse (DEMP) gun. There are a number of uses for this technology but most of them are warefare related.

Israel’s thermal stealth innovator Eltics

Israel’s thermal stealth innovator Eltics unveiled today a short video depicting the results of recent tests where large thermal panels installed on a Land Rover Defender vehicle managed to eliminate the vehicle’s signature, totally masking the vehicle from the thermal sight’s display.

Following a recent investment refuelling the start-up company, Eltics embarked on the development and testing of a full scale prototype of the Black-Fox active – adaptive – multi-spectral stealth system, to be able to mask a complete vehicle (both sides, front and rear). The system employs a thermal camera that samples the background view and a system processor and controller that recreates the necessary effects on the panels, blending the protected object into the background.

First results from ChemCam spectrometer

Roger Wiens, principal investigator for the ChemCam instrument, reported results from ChemCam’s first experiment. ChemCam shot it’s laser on a rock named Coronation.
It’s spectrometers recorded data on 6144 channels, ranging from ultraviolet to infrared light from 240 to 850 nanometers.
Here’s an image of this spectrum, sent back from Mars on August 19, 2012:
You can see emission lines from different elements, including oxygen, silicon and sodium as well as some minor elements like titanium and manganese.
The eye-catching carbon peak comes not from the rock itself, but from the atmosphere of Mars.
Another peak, indicating hydrogen, was only seen on the first laser shot. This most likely means this element was present only on the very surface of the rock.

Faced with a passive radar threat, the United States may find itself unable o achieve air superiority at an acceptable cost. - The L-band “game-changer”

Faced with the prospect of aerial stealth proliferation, states in the 21st century are looking for
antistealth defense options. One such alternative, passive radar, appears a costeffective counter to stealth. Passive radar is a receive-only system that uses transmitters of opportunity.1 Integrating a system of netted
receivers, passive radar can detect, track, and target piloted and unpiloted stealth systems and provide cuing for antiair weapons systems. A passive radar system emits no adio energy and can be well camouflaged in both urban and rural landscapes. The threat ystem produces no indications on friendly radar warning receivers and is difficult to locate and target. Faced with a passive radar hreat, the United States may find itself unable o achieve air superiority at an acceptable cost. the rest here >>  http://dl.dropbox.com/u/63539994/22.pdf

Brahmos 2 VS DF 21D , aircarrier killers

DF 21D ASBM :
An anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) is a military quasiballistic missile system currently in developement, of medium or intermediate range, designed to hit a warship at sea. Because of speeds typically reaching Mach 10 there are currently no ship-board defense mechanisms that could counter an ASBM in the terminal phase.

ASBM are equipped with a conventional warhead large enough, together with the kinetic energy, that a single hit has the potential to cripple or outright destroy a supercarrier, but unlike nuclear weapons have to hit the target precisely to be effective. Thus, and unlike a typical ballistic missile, which follows a ballistic flightpath after the relatively brief initial powered phase of flight, an ASBM would require a precise and high-performance terminal guidance system.

China has developed and reached initial operating capability of a conventionally-armed high hypersonic land-based anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) based on the DF-21. This would be the world's first ASBM and the world's first weapons system capable of targeting a moving aircraft carrier strike group from long-range, land-based mobile launchers.

BRAHMOS 2 HYPERSONIC ANTI SHIP CRUISE MISSILE:
A hypersonic cruise missile is a cruise missile that would travel at least 6-7 times the speed of sound (MACH 6-7) & is powered by scramjet engine.BrahMos II is a stealth hypersonic cruise missile that is being currently under development that can fly at Mach 7. But brahmos2 may be hydrocarbon based dualmode ramjet & scramjet powered platform or hydrogen powered
single mode scramjet powered vehicle .

'Russia and the West Are Drifting Apart'

Vladimir Putin has delayed a planned trip to Turkey following the forced landing of a Syrian plane in Ankara. In an interview, Vladimir Yukanin, a confidant to the Russian president

SPIEGEL ONLINE: You're the initiator of World Public Forum "Dialogue of Civilizations." What is the current state of relations between Russia and the West?
Vladimir Yakunin: We're on a dead-end road. At the same time, we face many common problems. The world order as we once knew it is breaking into pieces. During the Cold War, we at times found ourselves on the brink of nuclear war. The balance of terror ensured a kind of stability -- we were able to avoid a major war. But today's world is no less dangerous, as the conflict along the Syrian-Turkish border shows.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: What needs to be done?
Yakunin: A war must be avoided at all costs. Russia is against any type of use of external force. We say that particularly in regards to Syria. We also said that in the run-up to the Iraq invasion in 2003 -- at the time together with Germany and France. Today we know that talk of weapons of mass destruction was only used as a pretext, an American lie told at the highest level of state and presented before the United Nations.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: Isn't Russia's support for Syria based on the fact that the country is a traditional partner of the Kremlin?
Yakunin: It is based on the fact that Russia has good knowledge of the Middle East. We think that Assad is still supported by a majority of the population. And we know that Assad's opponents are being armed from abroad.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: An airplane that was en route from Moscow to Damascus believed to be carrying military equipment was just forced to land in Turkey. And Assad is fighting his opponents with helicopters and heavy artillery he has obtained from Russia. Is that not true?
Yakunin: You shouldn't equate the two. Russia has delivered weapons -- and this happened on the basis of long existing contracts -- to the legitimate, internationally recognized government of Syria. But what the West wants is regime change, the toppling of this government. I have no concrete knowledge about the aircraft incident in Turkey.

Riot rage: Athens protesters wellcome Merkel

A rally in the Greek capital turned violent when protesters in Syntagma Square lobbed Molotov cocktails at police, who retaliated by firing tear gas at the demonstrators.
Security forces also reportedly used flashbang grenades and pepper spray to push protesters back from the parliament building. According to Greek newspaper Kathimerin, the police had been ordered to refrain from using chemicals against protesters.
Around 70,000 people, as estimated by Reuters, gathered in front of the parliament for the country’s biggest anti-austerity protest since the new government came to power.
"EU, IMF out!" shouted the angry crowd.
"For the past two-to-three years we've been living an incredible social catastrophe," one of the protesters told Agence France Presse. "My salary has been cut by 50 percent. I have two children and tomorrow I don't know if I'll have a job."
Clashes erupted in different parts of Athens Syntagma Square, with demonstrators throwing fire bombs at police.

Iranian radars Mashreghnews report, Part III

Iranian radars Mashreghnews report, Part III :4D innovations in hunting stealth aircrafts

Quote

Kremlin Seeking Naval Bases Abroad

Kremlin Seeking Naval Bases Abroad - January, 2011

Moscow is not concealing its strong desire to play a greater political role in the Middle East and to have a greater naval presence in the Mediterranean Sea. Establishing a naval presence in strategic seaports throughout the world is more-or-less a prerequisite for any aspiring global superpower. The socioeconomic turmoil that followed the collapse of the Soviet Union forced Moscow to abandon its strategic naval bases in Cuba and Vietnam. Despite the chaos of the post Soviet years, however, Moscow continued to keep a presence, albeit a small one, in Syria's second largest port city of Tartus. It is becoming increasingly clear now that Moscow is interested in increasing its military presence in Syria. Russia's growing presence in Syria may actually explain why Syria has not yet had its sovereignty grossly violated by the Anglo-American-Zionist alliance. Moreover, in an interesting turn of affairs, after spending years kissing Washington's ass and feet in hopes of receiving modern weaponry, Lebanese officials have finally come to their senses and traveled north recently to meet with the Russian Bear. The following news articles are pertaining to these recent developments. The article posted at the bottom of this page was taken from the Jerusalem Post several years ago. The article in question refers to an interesting incident that is said to have taken place between Russia and Israel in 1996.

Georgia will seek close cooperation with both Russia

Georgia will seek close cooperation with both Russia Georgia will seek close cooperation with both Russia and Western powers, billionaire tycoon Bidzina Ivanishvili said on Tuesday, as his opposition coalition headed for election victory.
“It is very difficult to have many strategic partners, but we have to try and do this,” Ivanishvili told journalists. “If we can build a democratic state, I believe we will have a genuine opportunity to forge good relations with NATO and Russia.”
President Mikheil Saakashvili conceded earlier on Tuesday that his ruling United National Movement (UNM) had lost to Ivanishvili’s Georgian Dream coalition in crucial parliamentary polls after what he called an “emotional and tense” election campaign.
The elections took on particular importance in the light of a law passed in 2010 transferring the majority of the president’s executive powers to the prime minister. The law comes into force from 2013, when Saakashvili’s second term ends.
Saakashvili came to power in 2003 after a popular revolt against a regime headed by former Soviet foreign minister Eduard Shevardnadze. He was soon praised by Western powers for his democratic reforms and proved a staunch US ally – contributing the third largest contingent of troops to Iraq.

The National Library of China on Monday presented historical documents, atlases and ancient journals regarding the Diaoyu Islands and their affiliated islets in the East China Sea.
The documents are intended to demonstrate that China discovered the Diaoyu Islands at the beginning of the 15th century, as well as put them under its jurisdiction as affiliated islets of Taiwan. The central government folded the Diaoyu Islands into the defense scope of east China's Fujian province, the documents show.In 1885, the Meiji administration of Japan found the islands through an investigation by Okinawa authorities in 1895.It is "a sheer historical lie" for Japan to claim sovereignty over the Diaoyu Islands based on the principle of "first come, first served," according to a statement from the library. The "Record of the Imperial Envoy's Visit to Ryukyu" displayed at the exhibition represents the earliest Chinese document to record the maritime boundaries of China.

Collective destructionism of Armenians - August, 2012

Collective destructionism of Armenians - August, 2012

As the presidential election in Armenia gets nearer, the young republic's so-called political opposition is again preparing to cause unrest. While their approach and tactics will vary somewhat, they will be united in the hope that by putting pressure on the entrenched government and by disseminating poisonous propaganda, the masses will eventually rise-up against their leadership, similar to what happened in early 2008 when Levon Petrosian's and his gang of criminals attempted their ill fated revolution.

The intent of this blog entry is to help open eyes and prepare the reader for the coming election season in Armenia, which promises to be very interesting to say the least.

Below this commentary I am presenting you the work of a good comrade. His work is essentially about the dangerously negative mood presiding inside Armenian society today and it is aptly called "Collective Destructionism". Below his excellent work I have also posted several very rare voices of sanity and objectivity. Please read them all. We need to be informed of the political dangers that our newly formed republic faces, and armed with this information we need to fight against the negativity and the destructive criticism that is being engineered by Armenia's Western led, funded and/or inspired political opposition.

The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Porter suffered significant damage after colliding with an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday.

The USS Porter is an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer that is part of the 5th fleet. That particular class of destroyer runs about $1.1 billion ($321.9 million for the ship; an extra $778 million for the weapons systems). They carry about ninety missiles of different types, and carry torpedo, helicopter, and gun weapons systems as well. You’d think a bit more of that money would have gone into adequate navigational systems.

The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Porter suffered significant damage after colliding with an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday.
The USS Porter was passing through the Strait of Hormuz into the Persian Gulf.
The Japanese-owned, Panamanian flagged tanker M/V Otowasan was coming the other way, just entering the Strait of Hormuz, and the two crashed into one another.
The shipping lanes are very narrow, about two miles wide in each lane.  The crash left a hole in the side of the destroyer but no injuries were reported.
The damage is all above the water-line, so there is no danger that the ship will sink, but likely sustained water damage because the fire control system would have activated.
After the collision USS Porter headed to a port called Jebel Ali in the UAE.

Cold War II - Heralding the Rise of a Bipolar World

“Today we are witnessing an almost uncontained hyper use of force – military force – in international relations, force that is plunging the world into an abyss of permanent conflicts. As a result we do not have sufficient strength to find a comprehensive solution to any one of these conflicts. Finding a political settlement also becomes impossible. We are seeing a greater and greater disdain for the basic principles of international law. And independent legal norms are, as a matter of fact, coming increasingly closer to one state’s legal system. One state and, of course, first and foremost the United States, has overstepped its national borders in every way.”

- President Vladimir Putin at the Munich Conference on Security Policy (February 11, 2007)
"As soon as one side comes under the illusion that it is invulnerable to a strike from the other, there immediately arise both a number of conflicts and aggression... Not because America is by definition an aggressive country, but because it is a fact of life. There is no way around it. And this worries us."  - Presidential candidate Vladimir Putin during a nationwide televised interview in Moscow (March 2, 2012)In my opinion, the historic comments made by Vladimir Putin at the Munich Conference back in early 2007 signaled the official commencement of Moscow's reemergence as a global leader and its belligerence towards the political West. And Vladimir Putin's comment made on nationwide Russian television in early 2012 signaled that Moscow's belligerence will surely continue for the rest of this decade. Nevertheless, ever since those powerful words were resonated around the world back in 2007, the West has not missed any opportunity to attack Vladimir Putin. Five years ago Putin verbally signaled to the West that Russia was back on the international stage as a major political player and as the long-awaited balancing power the global community desperately needed. Four years ago, Moscow crushed the Western-backed Georgian military to make its point perfectly clear. And this year Putin is back to finish some unfinished business.

Kaliningrad: Russia’s anti-shield base

On Thursday, General Nikolai Makarov, Russia’s most senior military commander, warned NATO that if it proceeded with its missile defence system in Europe, Moscow would use force against it. According to Makarov, Russia may counter NATO deployment by stationing short-range Iskander missiles in the Russian Kaliningrad exclave, on the Baltic Sea. “The deployment of new strike weapons in Russia’s south and northwest - including Iskander systems in Kaliningrad - is one of our possible options for destroying the system’s European infrastructure,” the General said, while speaking at a conference in Moscow on anti-ballistic missile policy.

Armenian issue today related to M. East and Syria

The campaign against Damascus will not be letting up anytime soon; they are clearly in this for the long run. Having gotten not far with a "popular" uprising, we can expect the drive against Assad's regime to become bloodier as Turkey and Washington's various Arab client states begin sending Islamic terrorists into Syria. What people must realize is that there can no longer be a political solution to Syria's problem. If Assad's regime is unable to find an effective military solution, the next few months in Syria will most probably see a significant increase in guerrilla type hit-and-run operations and terror bombings. Unfortunately, Syria is not the only powder keg in the region. Ambitious imperialists and predatory Zionists in Washington are clearlywinning the propaganda war against Iran. The war camp in United States has secured the hearts&minds of America's cattle. Having thus succeeded in their fearmongering campaign, they are currently preparing the ground for a military strike against Iran.

As a precautionary measure against a fallout from a wider regional war, Russia has reportedly been reinforcing its military presence throughout the Caucasus. Moreover, as a precautionary measure against Baku's militaristic desires with regards to Armenia, Moscow has also been actively helping Yerevan enhance its military capabilities.Concerning General Ohanyan's recent visit to Washington: Giving it much importancewould be a mistake. The visit can be characterized as nothing more than giving dangerous imperialists in Washington some lip service.

Russian military unit has arrived in Syria, according to Russian news reports, a development that a United Nations Security Council source told ABC News was "a bomb" certain to have serious repercussions. Russia, one of President Bashar al-Assad's strongest allies despite international condemnation of the government's violent crackdown on the country's uprising, has repeatedly blocked the United Nations Security Council's attempts to halt the violence, accusing the U.S. and its allies of trying to start another war.
Now the Russian Black Sea fleet's Iman tanker has arrived in the Syrian port of Tartus on the Mediterranean Sea with an anti-terror squad from the Russian Marines aboard according to the Interfax news agency. The Assad government has insisted it is fighting a terrorist insurgency.
The Iman replaced another Russian ship "which had been sent to Syria for demonstrating (sic) the Russian presence in the turbulent region and possible evaluation of Russian citizens," the Black Sea Fleet told Interfax. RIA Novosti, a news outlet with strong ties to the Kremlin, trumpeted the news in a banner headline that appeared only on its Arabic language website. The Russian embassy to the US and to the UN had no comment, saying they have "no particular information on" the arrival of a Russian anti-terrorism squad to Syria.

The U.S. has “very grave concern” about arms reaching the Assad regime after news reports that a Russian shipment of ammunition arrived in Syria, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice said. Chariot, a Russian-owned ship carrying bullets, was detained by Cypriot authorities on Jan. 9 and allowed to proceed two days later after agreeing to change its destination to Turkey, the Cypriot national broadcaster CyBC reported without saying where it got the information. Instead, the ship stopped transmitting its automatic-recognition signal and went to the Syrian port of Tartus.
“Unfortunately there is not an arms embargo against Syria which we certainly think is overdue in part, because as you well know, some members of the council including Russiahave indicated opposition to any form of sanctions,” Rice said in New York. Russia has weapons contracts with Syria of at least $3 billion, according to the Moscow-based Center for the Analysis of Strategies and Technologies. The orders include Yakhont anti- ship cruise missiles, MiG-29 fighter jets and Pantsir short- range air-defense systems. The port of Tartus is the only Russian base outside the former Soviet republics.

As tensions ratchet up in the Persian Gulfthe Kremlin is signaling that it will use all its diplomatic influence to oppose war and, according to a leading Moscow newspaper, has ordered the military to prepare for any possible spillover from a conflict between Iran and the US into the sensitive post-Soviet Caucasus region.
Russia will block any further sanctions against Iran in the UN Security Council, a Foreign Ministry official said Tuesday, because it believes rising tensions could trigger a conflict that would destabilize the wider region. Last week Russian deputy prime minister and former ambassador to NATO Dmitry Rogozin warned that any Western attack on Iran would constitute "a direct threat to [Russian] national security."

The independent Moscow daily Nezavisimaya Gazeta reported Monday that this year's annual military exercises in Russia's south, Kavkaz 2012, will be much larger than usual and organized around the premise of a war that begins with an attack on Iran but spreads to neighboring Armenia and Azerbaijan, and draws Russia into a regional maelstrom. The newspaper said the war games, which are usually confined to Russian territory, might this year include maneuvers in the breakaway Georgian statelets of South Ossetia andAbkhazia, and perhaps also in Russian-allied Armenia.

The Whole Azerbaijan envisaged by Stalin

The Whole Azerbaijan envisaged by Stalin
Despite the loss of Nagorno-Karabakh, de facto independent from 1994, Azerbaijan is still the largest and most populated among the former Soviet republics of the South Caucasus. Established in 1918, the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was the first secular state in the Muslim world, though its existence was very short due to Soviet annexation two years later. Thanks to its energy resources, today’s Azerbaijan is a strong, independent country inhabited by roughly 10 million people, 90 percent of whom are Azerbaijanis. Nevertheless, a much greater number of ethnic Azerbaijanis live outside the borders of the republic and especially in Iran, where they are thought to be more than 15 millions, thereby constituting more than half of the so-called Whole Azerbaijan.
